Teacher thrashed after complaints of rape bid

ALWAR: A 51-year-old teacher was badly thrashed and his clothes were also tore apart after an 8-year-old girl of a government’s primary school situated at Gugdiya village near Neemrana in the district complained that the teacher attempted rape to him. The accused was handed over to the police and a case under appropriate sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was lodged against him. Police were interrogating the teacher to find out his role in the case.
The incident came to notice when the girl after her schools told her parents that the accused identified as Sreechand Yadav attempted rape to her. On Wednesday morning a large number of parents gathered at the school and thrashed the teacher. However, the accused teacher refuting these claims said that he is been implicated in a wrong case.
“We have taken him for the questioning and urged parents to provide any further information about the incident. The teacher is been questioned. It has to be find out when did the accused attempted rape to the girl and if the matter was reported to the school administration,” said Hitesh Sharma, in-charge, Neemrana police station.
Chairperson of Rajasthan State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Manan Chaturvedi taking cognizance of the incident has urged police to complete the medical examination of the girl and make faster arrest in this connection. “We will also urge the education department to take strict action against the teacher,” said Manan.
Villagers alleged that the teacher had done similar acts earlier in which he was asked not to repeat it.
Block education officer, Subash Chandra Yadav said that the matter is under investigation and if the teacher is found guilty a strict action would be taken against him.
